Timeline for 2011 start-up charter schools

The Fulton County Board of Education supports student success and school choice by authorizing charter schools that provide unique, innovative, high quality, research-based and standards-driven learning opportunities for students.

 

Charter petitioners who wish to submit a proposal to open a start-up charter school in the fall of 2011 should be aware of the following deadlines:

 

·         February 1, 2010 – Letter of Intent for 2011-12 start-up petitions due to the Georgia Department of Education and the Fulton County School System

·         February 25, 2010 – 2011-12 start-up petitions are due to the Fulton County School System

·         March 9, 2010 – 2011-12 start-up petitions presented to Fulton County Board of Education for First Read

·         April 22, 2010 – Fulton County Board of Education votes on 2011-12 start-up petitions
