Atlanta Magazine profiles top high schools
Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Atlanta Magazine has profiled eight Fulton County high schools in its January 2009 issue featuring metro Atlanta’s best high schools.

The magazine compared course offerings, facilities, extracurricular activities, awards and SAT performance. Results were reported across a broad spectrum of categories to include general academics, math, science, language arts, performing/visual arts and sports. Ten schools – both public and private – were profiled in each category.

Additionally, the magazine compiled a list of “All-Around” achievers, which are schools that excel in three or more of the categories. Of the 14 “All-Around” finalists, five were from Fulton County, while seven were private schools and two were other public schools.

The following is a listing of the categories and the Fulton County high schools recognized. The magazine also profiled “Junior Achievers,” which are elementary or middle schools that have standout academic programs that successfully prepare students for high school.
