Ten Fulton County School System assistant principals were recently selected for the district’s unique Promising Principals Program (3P), a yearlong program designed to help build the next generation of school leaders.
Applicants were selected based on a number of criteria, including a recommendation from their supervising principal and their desire to serve as a future principal in Fulton County. They must have a minimum of two years’ experience as an assistant principal to be considered.
The Promising Principals Program, conducted by the Leadership Development Department, is a component of the school system’s V² Leadership Academy (vision and value-added) launched last fall. Participants are assigned a principal leadership mentor and will engage in field exercises, attend workshops, complete learning modules and develop a “Leadership Knowledge” project to demonstrate their readiness to serve as school leaders. A commencement ceremony will be held in May.
