Amanda Corman from the Atlanta History Center, one of the South’s premier resources for interdisciplinary and interactive education, visited Conley Hills Elementary School’s fourth grade social studies classes to present, “Native Lands: Native American life in the South.”
Corman brought a kit of reproduction projectile points, a working "pump drill," music, maps, pottery and basketry. The students were able to see, touch and hear about what they have been studying in Alisheia Garner’s social studies class.
The school tour and traveling exhibition, interactive programming, and curriculum resources highlighted major themes in the fourth grade Georgia Performance Standards on U.S. history.
