Board meeting set for work session
Wednesday, October 14, 2009

The Fulton County Board of Education will meet October 13 for a work session at the school system’s Administrative Center. The board will first convene to closed executive session at 12:30 p.m. to discuss land, legal and/or personnel items. At 2 p.m., presentations will be held on the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) Portal Project Plan and the Fulton Institute of Technology (F.I.T.). There also will be a reception for the 2009-10 class of Promising Principals Program and their mentors.

Also at the work session, items from the October 22 board meeting agenda will be reviewed and discussed beginning at 4:30 p.m., with action taken the following week at Dunwoody Springs Charter Elementary School. Recognition of award-winning students and staff begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a public comment session. The agenda will be posted to the BoardDocs web site at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

Online Agenda and Videostreaming

The school system uses BoardDocs, a program that makes the school board agenda and all supporting documents available online. The meeting locations are equipped with wireless technology that allows access to the Internet and the BoardDocs agenda site; however, those visiting with laptops must have supporting wireless software in order to be connected to the wireless network.

School board meetings can be watched live from a computer screen using special viewing software, such as Windows Media Player or RealPlayer. Audio and video recordings of the meetings are archived to the videostreaming web site within 48 hours of the meeting.

All meetings of the board are open to the public unless designated as executive session, where the school board must convene in private to discuss land, legal and/or personnel items.
