Former educator, fitness trainer, and
motivational speaker Brandi Harvey, daughter of entertainer Steve
Harvey, visited Woodland Middle School on November 16,2011 for a talk
especially for 8th grade girls. She stressed the importance
of young women taking personal responsibility of their education,
health, image, and overall success in life. During her visit, Harvey met
members of the Woodland Student Ambassadors, answered questions and took
photos with students and teachers, and was even interviewed by
Woodland’s own SATV News.
Young, Fit, and Fly, the
organization founded by Harvey, has recently partnered with the city of
Atlanta to conduct several leadership conferences for girls around the
metro area. Since 2009, Harvey has been the assistant director of the
Steve Harvey Foundation, and has dedicated her life to “helping women
live their best lives possible.”
