Welcome to Roswell North Elementary!

We make every effort at RNE to make sure your child stays safe and healthy during the school day!

Looking for forms? Please scroll to the bottom of this page.

With that being said, here are a few friendly reminders:

It is best for students to take medication before or after school; however if it is necessary to take a medication during the day, please note they we cannot administer prescription medications unless we have a signed Medical Authorization Form on file. This form needs to be completed and signed by both the parent and prescribing physician. The prescription medication must be provided in its original container!

The same applies for Over the Counter (OTC) medications. The only difference is that the Medical Authorization Form only has to be signed by the parent and the OTC medication must be provided in its original packaging clearly labeled with the student’s name.

Although we want students to return to school as soon as possible after an illness, diagnosis, or medication change, it is necessary for the safety of your child that we ask that you observe them for any unsuspected reactions to a new medication and report it to the prescribing physician immediately. It is also very important to stay in communication with the clinic and your child’s teacher about any changes in their health or any medical conditions we need to be aware of during the course of the year.

Illness

The main reasons for keeping your child at home are:

He/She are too sick to be comfortable at school.

He/She might spread a contagious disease to other children/staff.

As a rule of thumb, a child needs to stay home if he/she has:

A fever higher than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit

Vomited more than once

Diarrhea

A frequent cough

Persistent pain (ear, stomach, chest, etc...)

A wide spread rash

Pinkeye

Students need to be fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medication (Advil, Tylenol, Motrin, etc...) before returning to school. Under some circumstances a note from your physician may be necessary for your child to return to school.

Whenever there is doubt about sending your child to school, please consult your physician before sending them. You may also call the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta 24-hour nurse advice line at 404-250-KIDS for advice when your child’s doctor’s office is not open.

The school clinic is open daily from 7:30am – 2:30pm and can be reached at 770-552-6320 ext 125. We are available during these hours to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to a healthy and safe school year and are here to help with your child’s health and medical needs.
