Mimosa’s Japanese Program is part of the Georgia Elementary School Foreign Languages Model Program which offers Japanese, German, French and Spanish to elementary students across the state.
Only Mimosa Elementary School offers Japanese language instruction.
Our beliefs are that Georgia’s children need second language skills in order to be competitive in the 21st century and that foreign language study can increase children’s capacity for critical and creative thinking skills and cultural awareness.
At Mimosa, we follow the curriculum guidelines provided by the Georgia Department of Education.
Activities in Japanese class support regular classroom instruction and enhance the total learning environment.
The long-range goal of the program is to produce knowledgeable users of the target language.
