Biographical Information

I have been providing clinical social work services to families in the greater Atlanta area for over 30 years. For the past ten years, I have served as the school social worker based at Frank McClarin High School, where I provide intensive crisis counseling and a variety of supportive services, all with a single focus---the ‘at-risk’ student. As a member of the support staff at McClarin High I feel privileged to work in a school whose sole mission is to assist students in overcoming obstacles to academic success.

Current Projects

• Forming collaboratives with community-based agencies/resources for the enhancement of student services.
• On-going development of educational seminar series enlisting speakers from community agencies covering such topics as health, hygiene, child care, finance, etc.
• Expanding the network of social work referral services for our student families (individual/family counseling services; substance abuse counseling; physical/mental health services).

Personal Interests:

Developing more educational options in the non-traditional school for our open campus students
