The graduation ceremony and celebration were held on May 22, 2008 in the Milton Center Auditorium. Students, family, friends, faculty, staff and special guests were treated to a truly moving and inspirational event. We are all so proud of these students who have worked extremely hard, and in many cases overcome extraordinary hardships, to earn their high school diploma.

Independence would like to thank our Area Superintendent, Mr. Bob Lynch, for attending and giving an inspirational speech to our graduates. We also appreciate the support in attendance from Fulton County Board members Ms. Linda Schultz, Ms. Catherine Maddox, and Ms. Julia Bernath, along with Chattahoochee High School principal Mr. Tim Duncan and various representatives of the businesses, organizations and churches that awarded scholarships to many of our students. (A list of special awards and scholarships are shown below.) Finally, we also thank Cosco in Alpharetta on Windward Parkway and Publix in Alpharetta on Haynes Bridge road for their donations of beautifully decorated "graduation" cakes, and to Roswell Presbyterian Church for overseeing the food and refreshments during the after-graduation celebration.
