Morning News ShowWHHS: The Lion's Roar is our morning news show. Teams of students work to produce the morning news daily. The Lion's Roar serves as the morning announcements for the entire school. Promptly at 7:50, the team is ready to go live and deliver the latest in weather, sports, lunch choices, the Question of the Day, and school announcements. The students also lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Student Vision.
Media Center PoliciesHours of OperationThe media center is open Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 3:30pm. Please do not send students to the media center during the morning broadcast, which starts around 7:50. Check-out Guidelines* Students may keep their library book(s) two weeks after the check out date. * Magazines may be checked out for 2 days. * Beyond the two week period is considered late. * PreK and Kindergarten are allowed to check out 1 book. * Grades 1 - 2 are allowed to check out 2 books. * Grades 3 – 5 are allowed to check out 3 books. * Students will not be allowed to check out other books until previous ones have been returned. * Reference books are to be used in the media center only. Renewals* You are allowed to renew a book. However, if the book has been reserved by another student, that book may not be renewed. Parent check-out* Parents who want to check out books or educational materials may do so with a five item limit. Parents data will be entered into the system to allow check out. * Parents may check out items from the media center, or the parent resource room. Teacher Check out* Teachers will be allowed to check out a total of 35 items. This includes library books, equipment, kits and professional resources. * Please return books, kits and professional materials as soon as you can. Do not keep these items in your room. (Even if you check books out to use in your class room library, it is important to rotate these books on a regular basis). * Seasonal books have a 5 day check out limit. * Digital cameras are available for 1 day checkout. Please return so we may recharge the battery. Due to the limited amount of cameras, send the equipment back as soon as you are done. Return any disks or connecting cables with the camera. Use of the Internet by students:* Internet access is available at Hamilton E. Holmes to support the instructional program. (Students may use the Internet as an educational resource only.) * The Fulton County School System complies with the Children's Internet Protection Act. Filtering is in place that blocks access to material that may be inappropriate for your child. (Surfing is not allowed.) * Acceptable use of the Internet is established in Board Policy / Procedure IFBGA, Electronic Network Access . The policy and procedure may be viewed on-line at http://www.fulton.k12.ga.us. * The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right. Inappropriate behavior may lead to that privilege being revoked and/or disciplinary action taken. |
