About Our Technology
Hillside Elementary has two computer labs fully equipped with windows desktop computers, smart boards, projectors and large size screens for multimedia presentations. There are two computers in each of the primary classrooms, and three in the upper grade classrooms. The Media center has computers available for research and taking Accelerated Reader Tests.
The technology curriculum is designed to help students learn how to research, organize, analyze, and present information effectively. There are specific technology skills that all students should be able to do at each grade level. These skills are listed in the student standards list provided by the Instructional Society for Technology in Education Society (ISTE).
The latest addition to our technologies is video-streaming. Teachers are now able to integrate their lessons with video content from the Discovery Channel at their UnitedSteaming Website.
