Message from the Principal

We are mid-way through the year and it is time to do a check on our progress thus far and our plans for the future. On January 25th, at 6:45 pm, we will be holding a State of the School Address. The meeting will begin with a message from our PTA and a vote on the nominating committee for the 2012-2013 PTA Board. After the PTA, the school’s data and the School Improvement Plan (SIP) will be shared. Our State of the School Address is open to anyone in the community to attend. If you have a neighbor or friend of a student that will be enrolling at Haynes Bridge for the upcoming year, please let them know that they are welcome to attend and learn about our school.
Our Community Coffee in February will be a follow-up to the State of the School Address
and provide a more intimate setting for questions and conversation around our data and the SIP.
We look forward to seeing you Wednesday night!

School Spotlight

With thirty students participating in this year’s HBMS school-wide Spelling Bee, the winner was finally decided today, January 24, to represent our school in the Fulton County-wide Spelling Bee. Drum roll please………………And the winner is……..8th grader Jorden Albright. Jorden competed against twenty-nine other students and had a brutal battle with runner-up, David Baghdasarian, also an 8th grader. The winning word was…. “RETRIBUTION”. Congratulations to Jordan, and of course, to David, for coming in second place. Jorden will be going to Mount Olive Elementary School on February 2 to represent HBMS in the county-wide Spelling Bee. GOOD LUCK…..Jorden!
