Lottery Guidelines and Recruitment Plan

Recruitment Timeline during the 2010-2011 School Year in preparation for the 2011-2012 School Year and Lottery Guidelines (if applicable:)

December 20, 2010                 -  Brochure and Applications Available

First week of Jan. 2011                       -   Mailing to all currently enrolled 5th ,6th, 7th, 8th, 9th , 10th , and 11th graders in Fulton County Schools (mail dropped by January 3, 2011.)

January 6 – Feb. 23, 2011       - Pre-enrollment registration of currently enrolled students

January 22, 2011                     - Informational/Registration Meeting #1 at 10:00 am for
prospective new students

February 19, 2011                   - Informational/Registration Meeting #2 at 10:00 am for
prospective new students

March 1, 2010                         - Tentative roster of students for 2011-2012 to FCBOE

NOTE:             If the total of the new enrollment registration number for 2011-2012 plus the pre-enrollment (currently enrolled) registration number for 2010-2011 after the February 19, 2011 Informational/Registration Meeting exceeds the maximum number of available seats (for grades 6 through 11) a lottery system will be implemented for all new enrollees at the middle school level and/or at the high school level.     The lottery will be conducted the week of February 28, 2011. Lottery Notifications of acceptances will be mailed to all applicants after March 30, 2011.

If the total of the new enrollment registration number for 2010-2011 plus the pre-enrollment (currently enrolled) registration number for 2010-2011 after the February 20, 2010 Informational/Registration Meeting is equal to, or less than the maximum number of available seats (for grades 6 through 11), a lottery will not be conducted.    All subsequent applications will be received as “first come, first serve” until the maximum enrollment level is attained for each of the grade levels.      Acceptance letters will be mailed after March 30, 2010.

If deemed necessary (due to enrollment numbers) a third Informational/Registration Meeting may be scheduled on March 19, 2011 at 10:00 am.
