  The Principal at Esther Jackson

     Welcomes You!

Dear Parents,

It is my pleasure to welcome you on behalf of this talented staff to another exciting year at Esther Jackson Elementary.  We were so proud of our results from last year and feel that we lived up to our motto: Esther Jackson, Where Learning Leads the Way!   Can you believe that our Pre K students will be the class of 2022?!

As many of you know, over the past three years Esther Jackson has grown by programs while our student enrollment has remained the same.  This growth has resulted in a student to adult ratio of 7:1 (instructional staff only).  Our focus is always on learning but our students get a healthy dose of TLC from our awesome teachers and assistants.

We hope you will use this Parent Handbook and Calendar for general information and event planning.  Please pay close attention to the PTA information.  Our new president, Paul Witmer, is enthusiastic and energetic, but he and the PTA Board members need your help.  PTA membership begins at $5 per person.  Isn’t that a bargain!  There are many opportunities for you to be involved in projects that support student learning and work with some truly wonderful people.  This year we have added a few events to our calendar.  We have planned volunteer days and will sponsor again a Math Mania Night.  (Character Day, Cut Loose with Seuss, The Holiday Luncheon, Grandparent’s Day and other favorites remain!)

We  have included Community Board Meetings on this calendar.  We encourage you to attend these meetings where our Board members provide information on agenda items and seek input for future decisions.  Esther Jackson is represented on the Fulton County Board of Education by Linda Schultz and Julia Bernath who are eager supporters of our school.

Thursday is the day that we send information to parents.  Every week we publish Jaguar Spots our school newsletter,  This newsletter and our website will give you the latest information about Esther Jackson and are the most efficient way to keep up with what is going on at school.  Signed and returned papers and grade level newsletters are distributed by-weekly on Thursday.

Please contact us if you need anything and visit when you can.  Our students love “lunch dates” with their parents and grandparents, AND if you are willing, we will put you to work and promise you will love it!

Have a great year.

Sincerely,

Connie Coles
