Curriculum Instructional Program
The Crossroads North curriculum is based on Georgia Performance Standards with strong and relevant integration of academic service learning. This unique approach will provide our students opportunities to apply learning with real-life experiences and allow them to have positive interaction with our community.
Academic service learning is meaningful community service with rigorous academics and a structured reflection. Students are exposed to the underlying causes and consequences of poor lifestyles choices. In keeping with our theme of "healthy lifestyles", students are involved in civic efforts to bring attention and awareness to these issues in addition to helping our students make more positive life choices.
Academic Service Learning
Service learning is a critical component of the Crossroad North mission. Students are constantly involved with community outreach and development through various organizations and activities.
Each student must do a minimum of 20 service hours per semester with an accompanied written explanation of what they've learned from the experience. This service guideline is in direct accordance with President Obama's Service Goal to integrate 50 hours of service per year into learning for middle and high school students.
Service learning activities are posted on the school calendar and conducted under strict supervision along with trained, experienced professionals within reputable volunteer and non-profit environments. Please click the following link for current semester activities:
