In October, I attended the GA Educational Technology Conference. I attended many sessions but the one that made the biggest impression was about podcasting in the classroom. I decided to find out if my students could benefit from podcasting. I have done my research via the net and in bookstores and now all the puzzle pieces have been assembled. My goal is to demonstrate this teaching tool and to encourage and support my fellow teachers in pursuing their own podcasts.

Students today know they are part of a larger community. Podcasting gives students an opportunity to share their writing and reading out loud with friends and families. Initially this podcast will contain audio clips from Ms. Shields' Kindergarten classroom as a model for future classroom podcasts. Select the 'small voices' link from the nav bar.

The second podcast is our 21st Century Elementary forum for educators. Teachers will describe how they integrate technology into their curriculum, problems encountered, student reactions and ways to improve instruction. Spring 2005 CVES became one of four elementary schools in the state of Georgia to be awarded the 21st Century Classroom Grant from the GADOE. Teachers can use this podcast to collaborate with one another. Select the '21st c.' from the nav bar above.
