Student Writing and Photography Get Published

The Creek View Cheetah Times is a newspaper comprised of articles about school events that 25, 4th and 5th graders write.  The students were selected at the beginning of the school year to participate in this after school activity.  Every Thursday, 25 students meet with Ms. Cunnold and valerie Curry to create the content of the articles.  These students interview teachers, students, and administrators for their reports, as well as gather poems for the poem contest, drawings for the drawing contest, and collaborate with each other on new articles and events going on in the school.  These students are not only responsible for writing articles on their chosen events, but also responsible for taking a few pictures to go with their articles.  During the day, the students capture photos both in classrooms and outside during activities. They are working and having fun at the same time.  The students on the newspaper staff really enjoy their roles as reporters and photographers and love to capture the news of Creek View Elementary School.

The first edition will be available in October.
