Attendance and Absence

School Hours are from 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM

Students who are not in their classrooms by 7:45 are considered tardy and will need to be escorted into the school to get a tardy slip from the office. Staff supervision of students begins when the bell rings at 7:15. Students will not be admitted to the school prior to this time without a written permission slip from a supervising teacher.

Students may be checked out for appointments by parent or legal guardian, when necessary. Students for early check-out should be picked up by 2 pm to avoid the regular dismissal process which begins shortly thereafter. Photo identification is required for check out.

Please try to schedule appointments and trips when they will not interfere with school. Any student absent for five consecutive days without a valid written excuse will be withdrawn from school.

Students are required to provide a written excuse from their parents/legal guardians when absent. Excessive absences and or tardies will be referred to the administration for follow-up. Students who check-in after 11:15 am are considered absent for that day. Please notify the clinic and your child's teacher in the event of a contagious disease or long term illness.

The Georgia Board of Health lawfully excuses students for the following reasons: personal illness, death in the immediate family, and special holidays approved by their faith. Students with contagious diseases should remain home until they are no longer contagious.
