Sculpture I

Sculpture I - students work with a wide variety of materials and equipment and create sculpture using additive, subtractive, modeled and mixed media pieces. Students work with clay, wood, metal, plaster, cardboard, plastic, paper and numerous found objects. Their work ranges from realistic figurative pieces to abstract and non-representational pieces.

Below are photos of students working in clay on a series of column shapes. The students worked with 2 artists-in-residence over a period of several months to create a piece symbolizing the art of dance from cultures around the world. The students were grouped generally by continents and depicted people from those cultures involved in dance.

Sculpture imitating the styleof Dale Chihuly's blown glass.

Made from panty hose stretched over coathangers and covered with whithe glue and acrylic paint this piece hangs in an atrium of the school.
