Ceramics II
Ceramics II - introduces the potter's wheel. This is an exciting and challenging new process for students to learn. Basic forms are made along with the further development of hand-building techniques. Glazing and surface decoration are explored more in depth.
The photographs below are samples of the work done by Ceramicas I and Ceramics II students during Spring Semester last year. On Exam Day the students brought in food for a brunch and served the food on pieces they had made during the semester. Prior to the brunch the students were lead in a discussion and critique of the pieces and how they function as food cantainers and decorative pieces.
These ceramic pieces are microwave safe as well as dishwasher safe.
