Advanced Placement Studio Art

Advanced Placement Studio Art - In this course, unlike other Advanced Placement classes, the students work all year on preparation of a portfolio of work which is submitted to Educational Testing Service for evaluation at the end of the year. Based on the score of the work submitted the student receives college credit for the work they have done.

There are three types of portfolios which students may submit.

AP Student Show and Breakfast

Each year after portfolios of work are finished, the students host an exhibit of their work and a breakfast for family, friends and teachers. The work remains on display for the day just before being sent to Educational Testing Service for evaluation. Teachers bring their classes to see the work. This exhibition gives the AP students great pride in the work they have done and their accomplishments for the year. If also gives people outside the Art Department an opportunity to see the work we do.
