Our Mission
The mission of the Centennial High School learning community is to provide all students with rigorous, relevant learning experiences that build relationships, to offer ample opportunities to exercise critical thinking skills, and to refine social behavior that will transfer into full participation in the global society. In order to fulfill this mission, faculty and staff will adhere to Centennial’s instructional mission for quality teaching; students will display their learning potential through performance by engaging in learning that is congruent with Centennial’s instructional mission for quality learning; and the community and other stakeholders will help students to develop positive attitudes and confidence in their ability to learn, to work, and to thrive in a diverse school society through multiple academic and co-curricular activities. | Full Document

- Footloose Features Centennial Alumni
- The 80's have hit Johns Creek! The Johns Creek Players are thrilled to present the blockbuster hit Footloose. The show features Centennial alumni Rico LeBron '10 (male lead) and Nicole Hood '09 (female lead). The show will run from July 15-17 with evening shows at 7:00pm and a Saturday matinee at 2:00pm. The performance will be held at the Johns Creek High School theatre. Tickets can be purchased from cast members, the box office online, or the Johns Creek High School main office on Tuesdays & Thursdays between 9am and 3pm.

- Registration for new students transferring to Centennial in the fall of the
2010-11 school year will be held during the following times:

- Senior Pictures for the Class of 2011
- Peachtree Portraits is the official school photography company for 2010-11. Every senior will need to schedule an appointment before the school year begins in order to meet the yearbook’s early deadline for the senior section. Please see the information flyer for additional details and how to schedule your appointment.
- Princeton Review's SAT and ACT Prep Classes
- The Princeton Review has partnered with Fulton County and Centennial to provide SAT and ACT test preparation. Students receive this preparation at Centennial and receive a significant discount. The tuition per class is $125 and covers 18 hours of classroom instruction, three diagnostic tests, 24/7 access to online student resources, and all course materials. Only juniors and seniors may register for these courses. Register online at the Princeton Review (under SAT or ACT and your zip code) beginning August 2 at noon. - Pictures from the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2010 are now available. To order pictures, click here.
- Course Registration Season Continues for 2010-11
- Students received registration information in advisement on January 20. In the coming weeks, students will have an opportunity to select their classes for next year. Students should consult the curriculum guide for information about the courses offered at Centennial. See registration guidelines for additional dates and information. Some courses require a request for registration/intent form. See below for a list of courses whose request for registration/intent forms are available online.
- Fulton County Offers Online Meal Payment System
- On January 1, 2010, Fulton County will begin offering MealpayPlus, a state-of-the-art online service that offers parents the convenience and information they need to manage their student’s meal account. This system will eliminate the need to send checks to school or worry about lost or forgotten lunch money, and speeds up serving lines in the cafeteria. For a small program fee, MealpayPlus allows any family to:
- Make a prepayment into their student’s meal account using a credit or debit card at MealpayPlus. Funds deposited through MealpayPlus are usually available for student use within a matter of minutes.
- Create settings to automatically replenish their student’s account when it reaches a low balance.

- Governor Perdue Honors Valedictorians
- Governor Sonny Perdue and First Lady Mary Perdue held a reception for more than 350 Georgia high school valedictorians at the Governor’s Mansion on June 15. | Story
- Governor Perdue Holds a Military Academy Send-Off Ceremony
- Joe DiPietro was honored at the Military Academy Send-Off Ceremony hosted by Governor Perdue on June 10.
- Centennial Announces New Principal
- Dr. Steven Miletto was introduced to Centennial's faculty on Wednesday, May 12. He will assume his duties on July 1. Read his blog.
- Boys Soccer Wins Region Title
- The varsity boys soccer team has won the Region 6AAAAA Championship for the 2nd year in a row. The Knights take on Norcross in the 1st round of the state tournament on Tuesday, April 27 at 7:30pm in the Fortress.
- Entrepreneurship Team Wins 1st
- Entrepreneurship team members seniors Alex Wong and Shovik Shyamsundar and junior Lauren Reid placed 1st in the FBLA state competition on March 26-27. Senior Allen Liu placed 9th in Economics.
- Centennial Brings Home the Award of Excellence
- On Tuesday, March 16, 18 students traveled to New York City to participate in the 2010 National High School Model United Nations Program. The Centennial delegation returned with the Award of Excellence. Only three of these awards were given to the several hundred schools in attendance.
- Students Take First in State Technology Fair
- Senior Clyde Sanders (animated graphic design) and junior Billy Clark (individual programming challenge) both earned first place in the State Technology Fair held on March 13. | Results
- 2010 Employees of the Year
- Community-based instruction teacher Catherine Wise was selected Teacher of the Year. Ellen Wiener, principal's secretary, was named as the Professional Employee of the Year. Both were honored at a ceremony on March 24.
- Student Named Semifinalist for the 2010 US Physics Olympic Team
- Senior Bradley Silverman has been named a semifinalist for the 2010 US Physics Olympic Team. | Press Release
- JV Academic Bowl Team Wins State Championship
- On February 27, the JV Academic Bowl Team earned 1st place in the state JV tournament at Ola High School.
- Eleven Students Win Awards at State German Convention
- Eighteen students participated in the State German Convention on February 26-27 with 11 students bringing home awards.
- Academic Bowl Wins Fulton County Champsionship
- The Academic Bowl team won 1st place in the Fulton County tournament on February 22 for the second consecutive year.
- Wrestler Wins State Championship
- Senior Brian St. James won his second consecutive state wrestling title on February 20. He finishes his Centennial career with 109 consecutive wins, including an impressive 52-0 record this season. | Article
- Centennial Named AP Merit School
- Centennial has been named an AP Merit school for the third consecutive year. This distinction recognizes those with at least 20 percent of students taking AP exams and with at least half of those exams receiving a score of 3 or higher. | Story
- Swim and Dive Has Strong Showing at State
- The swim and dive team qualified 27 swimmers for the state meet with ten swimmers advancing to the finals. Senior Julia Treible earned two first place finishes. The girls team finished 5th overall.
- Two Basketball Players Named to All-Region Team
- Seniors Vincent Bailey and Devonta White have been named to the Beacon Newspaper's 6-AAAAA all-region team. | Story
- DAR Announces Good Citizen Winner
- Senior Kandasi Griffiths is the winner of the Martha Stewart Bulloch Chapter DAR Good Citizen Scholarship for 2009-10. She received a $200 scholarship and has advanced to district competition.
- Swimmer Named Athlete of the Week
- Sophomore Caitlin Bell has been named the Roswell Neighbor's female athlete of the week for the week of February 8. | Story
- Six Students Place at County Technology Fair
- Six students placed either first or second in the 2010 Fulton County Technology Fair held on Saturday, February 6. Two students will advance to the state competition on March 13.
- Six Wrestlers Headed for the State Tournament
- The wrestling team qualified six wrestlers for the state traditional wrestling tournament which will begin on February 18 at the Gwinnett Arena.
- Reading Team Takes First in Metro Competition
- The reading team placed first in the Metro District Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl on February 6 and has advanced to the North Georgia competition.
- Skills USA Competitors Bring Back Five Medals from Region Competition
- Eight Skills USA competitors placed at the Region 3 competition on February 5 at the Atlanta Technical College. The Quiz Bowl team won gold!
- Art Students Displayed Work at Ceramics Exhibition
- Art students Emily Harris, Sage Kearney, and Sammy Lazinski were accepted into the North Fulton High School Ceramics Exhibition that ran from January 11-February 5. | Poster
- Cross Country Runner Named Junior Duathlete of the Year
- Junior Katie June was named the Junior Duathlete of the Year by USA Triathalon. June is the Junior Duathlon National Champion and finished 8th in the World Championship. | Story
- Student Featured on CBS Atlanta's Good Deeds
- Student Laura Cook was featured on CBS Atlanta's Good Deeds segment on February 4 for her participation with the Special Twist cheerleading squad. | News Segment
- Student-Athletes Take Part in the February Signing Period
- On February 3rd, eleven student-athletes signed their national letter of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, bring the total for the class of 2010 to 16.
- Students Excel in Model League of Arab States
- Twenty-one students participated in the Model League of Arab States on January 28-29. Eleven students earned individual delegate awards and both delegations received the outstanding delegation award.
- Students Advance to State PTA Reflections Competition
- Three students have been named winners in the North Fulton Council PTA Reflections Program for 2009-10 and will advance to state level.
- Wrestler Named Athlete of the Week
- Senior Chris VerSteeg has been named the Roswell Neighbor's male athlete of the week for the week of January 25. | Story
- Swim and Dive Takes Third at the North Fulton Championship
- On Friday, January 22, the swim team participated in the North Fulton Championship meet and took third place overall. The girls team finished in 1st with the the boys placing 6th.
- Band Members Selected for Festival
- Eighteen members of the Mighty Marching Knights Band have been selected to participate in the 60th annual University of Georgia January festival from January 21-24.
- Students Advanced to State HOSA Competition
- Seventeen students in the health care science program placed in the HOSA regional competition on January 13 and have advanced to state competition in March.
- Wrestling Advances to State Duals
- The Knights wrestling team placed 2nd in the area duals competition hosted at Centennial on Monday, January 11. They have advanced to the state competition for the 7th consecutive year and will compete at the Macon Centreplex on January 15-16.
- Basketball Player Named Athlete of the Week
- Senior basketball captain Devonta White has been named the Roswell Neighbor's athlete of the week for January 4. | Article
- Centennial Receives Governor's Award for Student Achievement
- Centennial has been named a winner in the 2009 Single Statewide Accountability System competition and has received a bronze award for outstanding student achievement.
- Student Receives National Yes I Can Award
- Senior Kristina Brewster has been nationally recognized by the Council for Exceptional Children for her outstanding academic achievements.
- Academic Bowl Takes Second in Regional Tournament
- The Academic Bowl team brought home a trophy from the CATT V tournament at Chattahoochee High School on Saturday, December 12.
- Centennial - Top #20 in Georgia
- Centennial's combined average SAT score for 2009 (1614) is ranked 18th in the state. Read more.

- Centennial is on Newsweek Magazine's list of the top public high schools in the U.S. Centennial ranks 3rd in Fulton County and 13th in Georgia. Read more.
- Centennial Receives 2009 Siemens Award for Advanced Placement
