Although Campbell Elementary takes its name from “Old Campbell County” which merged with Fulton County in the 1930s, the school community prides itself on its progressive future.
Dedicated to the education of each child, Campbell staff, parents, and students join together to create and maintain the "small-town" school atmosphere. While “Cooperatively Educating Students," the school emphasizes reading, math, and technology skills. The staff’s goal is educating each child to his/her full potential to become a responsible, lifelong learner. |

On Saturday March 3rd, 2007, a team of teachers, students, parents and community business leaders met to construct a Nature Trail and Outdoor Classroom. Campbell is fortunate enough to have more than 30 acres of unspoiled woods adjoining the campus, on Saturday the nature trail was constructed along with an 18 foot bridge, and outdoor classroom on roughly the first 4 acres of land. The plans were designed to disrupt the natural environment as least as possible. This was accomplished by nestling the classroom in a small opening in the woods, with seating for approximately 35 students.
The goal for the project was to give students at Campbell an opportunity to learn about nature and science up close in a natural setting. Conducting classes in this setting will allow students to develop a love for nature and science first hand. This project could not have been accomplished without support from the business community. Certified Security, Scharko Construction Company, Florida Rock Industries, Jernigan’s Hardware and the Kiwanis Club of Fairburn and Union City all contributed financial support, planning time, and labor to make this project a reality. |
