Your opinions are important to us! Extended Day Program All Banneker Students, Parents, and Stakeholders: The Tuesday and Wednesday All School Extended Day Program came to a successful conclusion March 9th. Beginning, today, March 10th, students will depart from school at 3:40 p.m. for the remainder of the year. We concluded the program earlier than anticipated to accommodate our need to narrow our focus to targeted students. We are also required to give The Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) next week. Passing the GHSGT is a graduation requirement. After the Graduation Test, our extra-help focus will return but will change to the End of Course Tests (EOCTs). Targeted students will be asked by teachers to remain after school for additional help. These Extended Day Tutorials will take place from 4:05-5:05 p.m. or to 6:05 p.m. Teachers will schedule their own tutorials with the students; and at the conclusion of the sessions each day, the students may ride home on sweep buses. This extra help is being provided to students only through the teachers who teach courses that require an EOCT. End of Course Tests are required in some classes by the Georgia Department of Education and are weighted as 15% of a student’s final grade. Thank you for your support of these major initiatives and interventions to improve student achievement at Banneker High School. Sincerely, Will Bradley, Principal
