Andrew Doetsch -- email

Mr. Doetsch was born and raised in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York in the small town of Glens Falls, New York. He earned his B.A. in Music Education from the State University of New York at Potsdam's Crane School of Music. While there, he took part in the 1980 Winter Olympics' opening and closing ceremonies in Lake Placid, singing in the Olympic Chorus. He earned his M.S. in Special Education/Educational Psychology at the State University of New York at Albany on a full-tuition fellowship.

Before relocating to Georgia in 1989, Mr. Doetsch taught both music and special education in various public schools in Upstate New York. Mr. Doetsch taught for DeKalb County for 3 years before he became a stay-at-home Dad for a few years. Then, another move…this time to Tampere, Finland where he was co-owner and lead teacher of an English Language Playschool for 3 years. While there, Mr. Doetsch developed the curriculum for that school which has now grown into 3 schools.

Mr. Doetsch moved back to the States in 1996. He taught for 6 years at New Prospect Elementary School before becoming one of the charter staff members at the new Alpharetta High School.

Mr. Doetsch has a lovely wife Jan (counselor at Webb Bridge Middle School), two children (Christian & Kayla) and two Standard Poodles (Zoe & Autumn). He enjoys playing volleyball, playing guitar, and riding his Harley.
