Welcome to Alpharetta Elementary School!

Alpharetta Elementary, located in historic Alpharetta, Georgia, offers a challenging curriculum combined with activities to support each child's personal development. Rich in history, Alpharetta Elementary opened in 1956 to serve a rural community. Alpharetta Elementary has evolved over the years into a modern facility changing to serve its current population. Active parent involvement and support help maintain the small town spirit within this modernized school.

Media Projects Win at International Media Festival!
     Three media projects from Alpharetta Elementary were entered into the International Student Media Festival last spring after winning awards at the Fulton County level and state level.  All three of the technology projects were judged to be winners at the International Media Festival held in Florida!
Students
     "How Possum Lost Her Tail," written, animated, illustrated, narrated, and produced by Mrs. O'Brien's 1st grade TAG class (Fall 2007) is a class created clay animation version of an old American myth followed by illustrated interesting facts about opossums. Congratulations for receiving a winning score and being selected as the Judge's Favorite! (Winners pictured above).
Students
     "Coming to America," an electronic storybook written, illustrated, narrated, and produced by Mrs. D'Amelio's 2nd Grade TAG Class (Fall 2007), is the story of an immigrant child who goes on a perilous journey from Germany to America during the year of 1892. Congratulations on receiving a winning score! (Winners pictured above).
Student
     "If These Shoes Could Talk," a Photo Story 3 project written, illustrated, and narrated by Madeline Ganter (pictured above, 3rd Grade, 2007-08) is about the life of a pair of shoes from their creation at the factory to their new home with Madeline. Congratulations on receiving a winning score!
     The International Students Media Festival will be held in Orlando, Florida, November 5 through 8, across from Disney, where all three entries will be featured. View a list of all winners at www.ismf.net.
