| Welcome to the new Langston Hughes High School
Langston Hughes was an influential poet and author whose literary work helped create an innovative way of expression during the Harlem Renaissance period. The work of Langston Hughes continues to promote excellence in academic growth and social development. LHHS will open its doors in August 2009 to educate students in the southern portion of the Fulton County School System. Built to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community, this state-of-the art facility will be the home to grades 9-12 students with an enrollment of approximately 1750. Under the leadership of Dr. Michael H. Robinson, a distinguished faculty and staff will be assembled to serve the school community. The parents, students and staff of LHHS seek to build a school that is nationally competitive in academics, the arts, athletics and service to the community. The students, staff and school community have a school facility that will prepare them for the demands of the 21st century and beyond. |
