PARENT SUPPORT GROUP
(A Group within the Parenting Education Program)

All the teen parents and pregnant students attend a weekly meeting to gain parenting skills and to prepare for the future after high schools. Speakers present programs on topics related to child care, nutrition, medical issues, healthy lifestyles, money management, career awareness and preparation, and post-secondary options.

Student nurses from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing are serving as mentors to the teen parents this year. In addition, they are conducting the Denver Developmental Screening Test on all the infants and toddlers in the daycare.

Students have the opportunity to earn points, "Mommy Bucks", toward gift certificates and Marta tickets for perfect attendance, course completions, and donations to the daycare clothing store. Highlights of the year include a holiday luncheon at Christmas and the Teen Parent Recognition Ceremony in May.
