Science Fair

Our Science Fair this year was a dual celebration! The new science wing ribbon-cutting ceremony was held prior to the Science Fair Awards ceremony. Superintendent James Wilson, along with PTA board members, school board members, and HBMS principal, Debbie Reeves, marked the beginning of our evening with a special ceremony.

Congratulations to all 245 Haynes Bridge Middle School Science Participants! Five projects were selected to move on to the regional fair on February 20th. Our Top 5 project participants included:

Meredith Bean &Melissa Burger with “ Which ‘Wood’ You Use”,
Justin Brauckman with “Solar Panels”,
Amy Martin with “Crickets and Light”,
Neely Meadors and Casey Dryfus with “Curly to Straight: The Big Debate”,
Sarah Terning with “The Effects of Intonation on Sympathetic Vibration.”


Science Fair Results - UPDATE
On Wednesday, February 20th Haynes Bridge students competed in the Fulton County Regional Science Fair and all 7 students placed in this prestigious event. The students had quite a remarkable day!
Justin Brauckman took 3rd in the Energy and Transportation category.
Neely Meadors and Casey Dreyfuss took second in the Chemistry category.
Amy Martin took second in Animal Sciences.
Meredith Bean and Melissa Burger took second in the Engineering category.
Sarah Terning took first place in the Physics category with her project, “The Effects of Intonation on Sympathetic Vibration”. Sarah will now be competing in the Georgia State Science Fair in Athens April 2nd-5th. Congratulations to Justin, Neely, Casey, Amy, Meredith, Melissa, and Sarah, you did a fantastic job. We are all very proud of you. We will await the results of the Georgia State Fair in April. Good Luck Sarah!
