Intramurals

The after-school intramural program will begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 and runs through April 23, 2010.
The program meets Monday – Thursday.  Students in grades 6-8 compete in many different sports and activities ranging from basketball, walking, cross country, flag football, ultimate frisbee to fitness.  Participants learn the rules and strategies of sports as well as sports etiquette.  Open to all skill levels.  Participate as much or as little as you like.

Intramural Rules and Policies

  1. Students must have school or other insurance. The insurance waiver should be signed only if you do not have school insurance (Insurance waiver located on the Parent Permission Form.)
  2. Intramurals run Monday. through Thursday from 3:45-4:45 p.m. and students MUST be picked up by 5:00 p.m. unless an emergency occurs. Failure to do so twice will result in suspension from intramurals for the remainder of the year.
  3. Students may sign up for any or all days. Students wishing to participate MUST sign up EACH day for after school activities. Sign up sheets are located in the cafeteria before school begins and are moved to the front office when school begins. Students need to sign in each day before 10 a.m.

Intramural Activities:

Sept-Oct: Basketball, Walking/Cross Country
Nov-Dec: Lacrosse, Walking/Cross Country
Jan-Feb: Flag Football, Rec. Games
Mar-Apr: Ultimate Frisbee, Walking/Cross Country

Extramurals

An interscholastic athletic program for the following sports:

Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Track: 7th and 8th Graders
7th Grade Basketball
8th Grade Basketball
Tumbling (all grades)

Practice varies and players are notified in advance. These are traveling teams playing against other North Fulton middle schools. The program also includes a one-day tennis tournament in the fall, tumbling exhibition in the winter, and a track meet in the spring. 

In order to participate in extramurals, students must :

  1. have submitted a complete Parent Permission Form and a Physical Evaluation Form.
  2. have acceptable school conduct  (i.e. no suspensions during the semester of participation);
  3. be passing 5 out of 7 classes in the semester preceding participation;  (The 5 subjects must carry credit  toward grade promotion.)
