Avoiding Unexcused Absences Late Arrival Student signs in at front office along with a note from parent explaining why student is late for school. Must be written note - must be given to front office. Must satisfy "Excused" requirements as detailed in Student Handbook. Early Departure Parent writes a note with time and reason student is leaving school early. Reason must satisfy "Excused" requirements as detailed in Student Handbook. Student brings note to office in the morning. Office makes notation of student leaving early and instructs student to keep note as a hall pass to come to the office at appropriate time. Parent must sign student out. Student meets parent in the office and places note in manila folder on counter. Full Day Parent writes a note for student to deliver to homeroom teacher. Note must be delivered to teacher within five days of absence. Reason must satisfy "Excused" requirements as detailed in Student Handbook.
