PARENT CONNECT CENTRAL

Logon

Haynes Bridge's Parent Connect has been merged into the District Data Base. by August, 2008 all schools in our cluster will be consolidated. This means parents will be able to use one logon to access all student records at that time. Currently both Haynes Bridge and their feeder schools are consolidated so you can link all your accounts to one password. Please email the school to arrange this.

If you have never registered for Parent Connect Please Click here to register. After two days or so, please come into the school's office and bring a picture id in order to pick up your user id and password.  You will then be well on your way to staying informed about your child's academic progress.

What is Parent Connect?

A way to access your student's grading, attendance and discipline information online.

How do I sign up?

You must register. Use your legal name when registering under Parent Information as well as your student's legal name under Student Information. You MUST be the student's parent or guardian. Also, please provide your e-mail address even though it isn't required. If you do not, we will not be able to contact you if we have questions. Click here to register.

Once I register, what then?

Over the summer, we do not register parents. We often do registration on Curriculum Nights but student grades are not available until after Labor Day. You must come in to the school and pick up your ID and password. For confidentiality purposes, a picture ID is required. . Before logging on BE SURE to read the instructions. It will cut down on your frustration using Parent Connect.

I am not sure if I am registered, should I register again?

No! Duplicate registrations cause errors in Parent Connect. Email the school and we will let you know.

If I was already registered at Haynes Bridge last year, how do I add a student to my existing Parent Connect ID?

Just e-mail the school. Please be sure to do this by November 15, 2008. This can be done even if you had an 8th grader last year.

I had an ID/Password last year and I have forgotten it - what shall I do?

Just e-mail the school.

I want to see my student's current grades but when I click on the Grades Pencil - I get past progress reports.

That is exactly what the Grades pencil is for. If you wish to see current grades - click on the Assignments pencil.

When I click on the Assignments pencil I get nothing - just a box that says Today & Tomorrow!

Click next to the down arrow next to Today and Tomorrow and you will see This School Year. This is what you want to highlight.

Who do I call at the school to ask Parent Connect questions?

Since Parent Connect is an online system, please use e-mail to communicate.

I am having difficulty reconciling my student's actual grade on his report card and the grades I see for his assignments?

Grades recorded in Parent Connect are raw scores. The grades do not reflect values/weights that are used to calculate final grades. Please review each course syllabus that explains assignment values/weights.

Parent Connect-Email

Parents who email a teacher from the Parent Connect grade page sometimes find that their message was not received by the teacher. Here's a tip that may eliminate the problem. There is a portion in the web interface that asks the user (parent) to type who sent the message. What Parent Connect really wants is an email address. Unfortunately, there is no prompt to indicate that, so many parents type in their name. When Windows detects an invalid email address, it drops the email that Parent Connect is trying to send. To prevent being "dropped", parents should remember to use their email address, rather than their name, in the "message from" blank. We make every effort to respond to emails within 24 hours. If you don't receive an answer in a timely manner, please make another contact: servers may be down; teachers may be absent; or a virus may be interrupting the flow of email. Also, verify in settings that your Parent Connect has your email address. If it is there and is correct, it will automatically populate this field.

These e-mails drive me crazy - can I turn them off?

Click on Settings - it will allow you to turn off the alert notifications.

Can I change my e-mail address?

Yes, Click on Settings while in Parent Connect. It will take 24 hours to take effect.

Can I change my password?

Yes, click on Settings while in Parent Connect. Be careful, do not try to use your account again for 24 hours. As always, with password trouble - e-mail the school.

I sent an e-mail to my teacher while in Parent Connect - my teacher never received it - how did that happen?

Click on Settings while in Parent Connect and make sure your e-mail address is correct. If it is, e-mail the school and someone will verify that the teacher's e-mail address is correct in Parent Connect. Another way to e-mail the teacher is through the Faculty page. Sometimes a phone call is a quicker way to get a question answered.

The attendance information is incorrect for my student in Parent Connect- who should I tell?

The procedures for dealing with student absences can be accessed by clicking here. If you feel, you have covered all these bases, then contact the teacher via phone or e-mail.

Parent Connect files are updated with grade and attendance information overnight. Changes made to grades or attendance will not be posted until the following day. Please be patient.

Questions? Problems? - if it is about a grade or assignment e-mail the teacher. If you are having trouble using ParentConnect - e-mail us at haynesbridge@fulton.k12.ga.us. This mail box is read three to five times a week at varying times in the day. We will address your question as soon as possible. Please do not call the school with Parent Connect user issues.
