Beginning Tuesday, May 12, 2009 Crabapple Crossing will register new students for the school year 2009-2010
on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 am - 1 pm throughout the summer.

According
to Georgia law, children must be five years old on or before
September 1 in order to enroll in kindergarten. To enroll
in first grade, children must be six years old on or before
September 1.
The only exceptions are
students who are age five by December 31 and who have lived outside the state of Georgia for the past two years and have enrolled in a public or accredited private kindergarten may enroll in public kindergarten in Georgia,
students who are age six by December 31 and who have lived outside the state of Georgia for the past two years and have completed public or accredited private kindergarten or have attended a public or accredited private first grade may enroll in first grade in Georgia.
To enroll in Fulton
County schools, the student's parent or legal guardian
must be a resident of the school system.

To enroll in Fulton County Schools, the student's parent or legal guardian must be a resident of the school system. Please bring a photo ID.
Immunization certificate
Georgia requires students to be immunized against measles, mumps, polio, rubella, whooping cough, tetanus, and diphtheria. Sixth grade students must have an additional MMR (mumps, measles and rubella) vaccine. Students born on or after January 1, 1992, must have completed the hepatitis B series. Effective July 1, 2007, all children entering kindergarten, sixth grade or new entrants (children of any age entering Georgia schools for the first time or returning to Georgia schools after being out of our system for a year) will need: 2 doses of MMR or 2 doses of Measles vaccine, 2 doses of Mumps vaccine and 1 dose of Rubella vaccine, or year for serology; AND 2 doses of varicella (Chicken pox vaccine) or have a year for history of the disease, diagnosis, or serology.
Immunization information must be on the proper Georgia Department of Human Resources form. These are available through the Fulton County Health Department or local physicians. Form # 3231.
Certificate of eye, ear and dental screening
Only required for students who have never been enrolled in a Georgia public school.
Must also be a Georgia Department of Human Resources certificate and must be signed by the Health Department or a licensed Georgia physician. Form # 3300.
Birth Certificate
Must be
government issued--hospital certificates are not
acceptable. Birth certificates for children born in

Proof of residency
Residency documentation assists in establishing that you and your child reside full-time within the Crabapple Crossing Elementary School boundaries. You must provide documentation in your name that shows you and your family physically reside full-time at the stated address (primary residence). Both the name of the parent/guardian and the address must be stated on the documentation presented. Crabapple Crossing accepts the following as verification of district residency: Two (2) original current documents are REQUIRED to establish residency. Post Office boxes are not acceptable. Only street addresses are accepted. Cell phone bills, cable/satellite bills or any internet copies do not meet residency requirements.

Affadavit of Residency
A notarized affidavit of residence is now mandatory for all students new or returning.

Social Security Number
This is voluntary.
Waivers are available in local schools.
Applications for social security numbers are also available in local schools.
Migrant number is acceptable.
Academic records
If possible,
please bring most recent report card, withdrawal form
from previous school,
or transcripts. These will assist in proper placement
of students.
Students in grades 7-12 also will need copies of any discipline records.
