New Extended Day Schedule
In a few days, the school day at Banneker will begin at 8:30 and end at 4:40 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays for all students except our Community Based Instruction (CBI) students.
Our CBI students will continue to leave each day at 3:40 p.m. Our students who are in work programs will continue to leave at their regular departure times.
This change is being made to accommodate the need to support student achievement through an extension of the school day. During this extra time, some students will be given extra help to meet state and national assessments while others will be catching-up in their program of study or participating in activities designed to accelerate achievement. This is a very special opportunity for Banneker students, and we are most appreciative of the commitment from our faculty, students, and parents who support this necessary and welcomed response to achieve excellence.
Academic excellence is the foundation of the culture we are setting and value, and this change supports what we value. Parents, please look for a letter in the mail regarding this change soon.
