DIPLOMA OPTIONS

Diploma Seal Options (c/o 2009-2011)
Students must earn at least one of the following exit documents in order to be eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies.

 

  • College Preparatory Diploma: high school diploma signifying that the student has satisfactorily completed a college preparatory program specified by the State Board of Education. 
  • College Preparatory with Distinction: program requiring successful completion of college preparatory program, one additional academic course and one additional academic or fine arts course.   In addition, a cumulative numeric grade point average of 80 or above is required as specified by the State BOE.
  • Career/Technology Diploma: high school diploma signifying that the student has satisfactorily completed a technology/career preparatory program of study. 
  • Career/Technology with Distinction: program of study requiring completion of the Technology/Career-preparatory curriculum plus 1 additional vocational unit and 1 additional academic or fine arts unit.  Students must maintain an overall numeric grade point average of 80 or above.
  • College Preparatory & Career/Technology (Dual Diploma): diploma that is awarded when a student completes all college preparatory requirements plus 4 vocational units (3 must be in the same vocational cluster). 
  • College Preparatory with Distinction & Career/Technology:  program of study requiring completion of all college preparatory requirements plus 1 additional academic unit and 1 additional academic or fine arts unit and then have 4 vocational units (3 must be in the same vocational cluster).  Students must maintain an overall numeric grade point average of 80 or above.
  • College Preparatory & Career/Technology with Distinction: program of study requiring completion of all college preparatory requirements plus 5 vocational units (3 must be in the same vocational cluster) and 1 additional academic or fine arts unit.  Students must maintain an overall numeric grade point average of 80 or above.
  • College Preparatory with Distinction & Career/Technology with Distinction: program of study requiring completion of all college preparatory requirements plus 5 vocational units (3 must be in same vocational cluster/area), 1 additional academic unit, and 2 additional academic or fine arts units.  Students must maintain an overall numeric grade point average of 80 or above.
  • Special Education Diploma: document awarded to students with disabilities assigned to a special education program who have not met the state assessment requirements referenced in Rule 160-3-1-07 Testing Programs--Student Assessment or who have not completed all of the requirements for a high school diploma but who have completed their Individual Education Programs.
  • Certificate of Performance: document awarded to students who complete the course and unit requirements for any of the above diploma types, but do not obtain passing scores on the Georgia High School Graduation Tests.
