William W. Bradley
Principal
Education: Mr. Bradley is originally from Vero Beach, Florida. The son of a minister and farmer and a mother who are the proud parents of sixteen children, Mr. Bradley understands the importance and value of a solid education. Mr. Bradley was raised in a home that valued education, sustained hard work, best effort, honesty, integrity, fairness, firmness, and respect.
His educational experiences have provided him with opportunities to lead. In high school, he was president of his junior and senior class. In college, at Furman University, he was Coordinator for Collegiate Educational Service Corp, an officer in Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity, and involved in student government. After graduation from Furman, Mr. Bradley earned a Master of Education Degree in Administration and Supervision from the State University at West Georgia and a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the John Marshall Law School. Mr. Bradley has begun the pursuit of a second doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Professional Experience: Mr. Bradley has served Fulton County Schools, officially, in several capacities for more than 22 years. He began his career in Fulton as a substitute teacher. He has taught high school, served as a remediation coordinator, served as an assistant principal at the elementary and middle grade levels, and has moved a school from the brink of restructuring to one of choice as a middle school principal. Mr. Bradley has served the education community at large by serving on numerous panels, committees, and has lead several initiatives to improve teacher quality, pedagogical skills, and retention. He is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals, The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, The Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, Georgia Association of Middle School Principals, and is a founding member of the National Professional Development Schools. He has made professional development presentations locally and nationally. At the time of Mr. Bradley’s departure from the middle school principalship, he had initiated a project, with Georgia State University, NCTAF, and the State Board of Regents, to create an ideal middle school in the Fulton County School System with support from several agencies and funding sources of national repute.
Hobbies & Interests: Mr. Bradley spends his personal time with his family which includes his wife, who is also an educator, and his two children. He enjoys physical activity, gardening, reading, cooking, singing, writing, supporting a senior citizen, and sports. |

Macquelyn Brown
Assistant Principal
Education:
Macquelyn Brown was named assistant principal at Banneker High School in the summer of 2008. As a native Atlantan who received a communicative arts degree from Spelman College and a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, Ms. Brown has longed desired to give back to her community as a high school administrator and is thrilled to work at Banneker. She is equally excited to be part of team of educators who want Banneker’s students to embrace their destined potential for success in every aspect of their young lives.
Professional Experience:
Ms. Brown began her career as an English teacher at Chamblee High School in DeKalb County Schools. After nine years as a classroom teacher, coach, club sponsor and mentor and one year as a department chair, Ms. Brown moved to chair the English department at Riverwood High School in Fulton County. In January of 2003, she became the Curriculum Assistant Principal and worked to implement a comprehensive academic integrity program, along with an Academic Achievement Assistance program for struggling freshmen. Ms. Brown was also effective in her work with the school’s master schedule and most importantly with supporting teachers in their efforts to improve student achievement for all students.
Hobbies & Interests:
In her spare time, Ms. Brown sings with a local community gospel ensemble. She has recorded background vocals for various up and coming gospel and secular artists and composes as well. Additionally, she likes to read and write. poetry, dance, choreograph, bowl, skate and play with her two dogs, except when a football game is on television. |

Jason Ross
Assistant Principal
Education: A native of Chicago, IL, Mr. Ross received his Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Morehouse College, and his Master of Educational Leadership degree from Kennesaw State University.
Professional Experience: Mr. Ross has served: 6 years as an elementary teacher, 2 years as a math coordinator, and 3 years as an assistant principal for the Atlanta Public School System. Mr. Ross completed 9 months of teaching in the Fulton County School System prior to his current position.
Hobbies & Interests:
Mr. Ross enjoys traveling, music, reading, and attending extracurricular activities that involve his two children. |

Kwame A. Carr
Assistant Principal
Education: Raised in East Point, GA, Mr. Carr attended Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Morehouse College and his Master of Educational Leadership degree from Mercer University.
Professional Experience: Mr. Carr has served seven years as a middle school math teacher, two years as an instructional math coach, one year as an assistant principal at the middle school level and now serves as an assistant principal at the high school level. Mr. Carr completed nine years of teaching in Fulton County Schools prior to his current position. During that time, Mr. Carr conducted action research on effective teacher-student relations that has been presented around the country.
Hobbies & Interests:
Mr. Carr enjoys long distance running (3 to 11 miles), reading autobiographies and non-fiction, playing with his two children, going to the beach, watching movies, working out, and relaxing with family and friends. |
