September 2008

Breakfast:

Our breakfast menu includes a selection of biscuits (chicken, egg/cheese, plain, sausage, steak) and cereal.

Cost: Students: $0.80      Adult: $1.30

Lunch:

Each class has a specific lunch period. See your student's class schedule for lunch times.

Cost: Students: $1.35      Adult: $2.40

The cost of a breakfast and/or lunch will be deducted from the student's account balance. Notices will be sent home to the parent to notify when an account shows a negative balance. If you receive such a notice, you are encouraged to pay the past due balance and include additional funds for future purchases.

  1. Parents may always opt to pay for breakfast and/or lunch on a daily basis. We suggest that you give your child the appropriate cash amount in an envelope marked with his/her name and teacher name.
  2. Students who forget their lunch money may request a charge to be placed on his/her account. Payment for that charge should be paid the following school day.
  3. Free and Reduced applications are distributed to every student at the beginning of the school year. Free and reduced lunches and breakfasts are available for families who qualify financially. Contact our cafeteria manager, Vickye Monger, for assistance.
  4. Charging on an account with a zero balance is discouraged and parents are asked to keep a pre-paid balance in the account so that it remains current. Students may charge no more than 3 meals.

Questions regarding your account balance may be addressed with the cafeteria manager.

Lunch from Home:

If your child forgets his/her lunch, you may bring it to the front office by 9:30 a.m. at which time a custodian will deliver it to your child's classroom. Foods brought from home need to be in plastic containers that the child can open. All soft drinks are prohibited.

Birthdays:

During the morning announcements, students will be asked to come to the front office for a birthday treat. No personal birthday party invitations may be distributed at school. With prior teacher approval, parents may bring in a small pre-cut birthday treat that can be handed out by the parent during lunch or in the classroom as determined by the teacher. Party favors, balloons, and/or flowers are prohibited.

Visitors:

When having lunch with your child, please sign in, obtain a visitor badge, and wait for him/her outside the cafeteria entrance.

Please leave any strollers in the Stroller Parking area outside of the cafeteria.

Tables in a designated area may be necessary to accommodate visitors at lunch. The school staff will direct guests and students to that area when necessary. This alleviates over-crowding.

Parents are encouraged not to bring in any fast food. Visitors cannot buy ice cream for other children.

Unless you have arranged to return to your child's room to read or work, please say your good-byes in the cafeteria.
