Affidavit of Residency

Beginning next school year, fall 2007, the Fulton County School System will require that all parents/guardians submit a notarized Affidavit of Residence form to the school.  This requirement applies to both current and new students and will be required annually.

The purpose of the Affidavit is to make sure that only students who reside in Fulton County attend our schools.  Our reputation as one of the best school systems in Georgia has resulted in some families  who live outside of the Fulton attendance zones finding creative ways to enroll their children in Fulton schools.  These families are taking advantage of our outstanding programs and services—without paying the Fulton taxes that are used to fund our schools.  The notarized Affidavit legally verifies that you child resides in our school attendance zone, has an approved hardship or other placement.

A copy of this form is available on our website at www.fultonschools.org/school/AbbottsHill.  The form will also be sent home at the beginning of next school year.  Please complete the form, have it notarized, attach two supporting documents and return the form with attachments during the first week of the 2008-2009 school year.

Clinic News

The clinic is proud to announce that Abbotts Hill Elementary has an AED (automated external defibrillator) now in place.  An emergency response team has been trained and the defibrillator is now operational.  Defibrillators are devices that can send electronic charges to the heart in case of cardiac arrest.  Our defibrillator is located in the clinic.  We are very thankful to Pam Jenkins who was instrument in obtaining the AED and to our PTA who provided funding for the equipment.

All student medications must be picked up before year end.  Any medications, prescription or over the counter that are not picked up will be destroyed over the summer.  We can not store any medications over the summer break.

Also, this is a final reminder to return all borrowed clothes to the clinic before the end of school.

PALS Needs You!

How can 4 hours a month help your child's teacher? A LOT! Our teachers could use you one day a month making copies. If you don't care for copier machines, we also need parents to come in and cut out die cuts from construction paper for the school. You get to select the day of the week you can work. We are very flexible.

Come in, copy and have lunch with your child. What a great way to help! email Eleanor Pepper with any questions at ecpepper@bellsouth.net
