Online=20 courses are not for everyone. Before registering for an online = course,=20 students should be honest with themselves about their own level of = technical=20 knowledge and skills. Students should be able to do ALL of the = following=20 in order to be successful in an online class.

=FC =20 Create = and save=20 a Word document.

=FC =20 E-mail = a friend=20 and add an attachment.

=FC =20 Download an=20 attachment from an e-mail.

=FC =20 Copy = and paste=20 text from one document to another.

=FC =20 Download a file=20 from the Internet.

=FC =20 Research a topic=20 using the Internet.

=FC =20 Resolve minor=20 technical issues on your own without assistance.

=FC =20 Perform a new=20 task (something you have never done before) by following written=20 instructions.

How much=20 do you know about computers and using them? How would you answer = this=20 question? If your response is =93I=92m so-so.=94 or less, then = online learning=20 is not for you.

Document=20 Attachments

Students are required to use Microsoft = Office=20 software to create work to be submitted to their instructors. = Students=20 using Microsoft Office 2007, will need to save their work in an Office = 2003 (or=20 earlier) format. To save an Office 2007 document in an Office 2003 = (or=20 earlier version) format, do the following:

1. = Click the Microsoft Office Button, = and then=20 click Save As.

2. = From the Save as type list, = select=20 Word 97-2003 format, PowerPoint 97-2003=20 Presentation (.ppt), or Excel 97-2003 format = from the=20 list of options. (Depending on which program you are working from). =

3. = In the File name box, type a = name for=20 the file.

4. = Select a destination to save the file (My = Documents,=20 Desktop, etc.).

5. = Click Save.
