    Occupation: Principal

    Bio: Dr. Edward Spurka, a native of Philadelphia, graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He then worked as a counselor and teacher at a publicly subsidized school for court adjudicated juvenile delinquent boys. Dr. Spurka went back to school in 1995 to obtain certification in special education. He was hired by Forsyth County Board of Education to work as a special education teacher and was soon after hired by Fulton County Board of Education where he worked at Milton High School, also as a special education teacher. While working at Milton High School, Dr. Spurka graduated from University of Georgia with his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. He was then promoted to the administrative assistant position at Milton High School. In 2000, Dr. Spurka was hired by Gwinnett County Board of Education as an assistant principal to work at Brookwood High School. In 2001, Fulton County Board of Education hired Dr. Spurka as an assistant principal at Roswell High School. A year later, Dr. Spurka graduated from University of Georgia with his Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership. In 2003, he was promoted to the principal position at Roswell High School. As Roswell High School's principal, Dr. Spurka has been selected to serve on the Fulton County School Superintendent's Advisory'Panel, President of Fulton County High School Principals' Association, named Georgia's High Performance Principal and selected as the State PTA Outstanding Principal of the Year.
