| Description |
Provide comprehensive educational instruction to students with hearing impairments. Collaborate with general education and other special education staff to ensure that the Individual Education Program is successfully implemented for each student. Work with parents/guardians to develop and provide an appropriate special education program for students. |
| Duties
& Responsibilities |
Assessing and documenting student communication skills, functional academic skills, independent living skills, and educational/behavioral development; developing and implementing instructional lesson plans; Maintaining documentation of student progress; Implementing appropriate instructional techniques based on individual student needs; Implementing instructional strategies that reflect the Georgia Performance Standards; Developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the Individual Education Program of each student on the caseload; providing consultation and assessment of students who have hearing impairments, as requested by Services for Exceptional Children staff. |
| Qualifications |
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Most hold a valid and clear teaching Certificate in Special Education Deaf Education (P-12). |
