| Description |
To provide instruction for students with disabilities that supports learning and results in improved behavior and student achievement. |
| Duties
& Responsibilities |
Completes due process follow up for students with disabilities. Develops, implements, monitors and reviews the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student on the caseload. Consults and communicates with parents regarding implementation of the IEP. Uses special methodology for instruction to support student progress related to GPS standards. Designs, implements, monitors and evaluates functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans and strategies to address individual behavior and classroom organization and climate. Administers, on an on-going basis, evaluations of student progress and maintains appropriate records. Serves as a resource to faculty, administrators and related services personnel. Develop or select and modify lessons and materials to meet student’s needs. Integrate technology to support instruction Provides social skills training and access to GPS standards instruction when indicated. |
| Qualifications |
Georgia Teacher Certification for area of specialization. Superior teaching and assessment skills. Mastery of content for grade level. Knowledge of IDEA and due process requirements. Excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills. |
