| Description |
The primary function of the Title I Data Support Specialist for Title I schools is to support the local school principal and the Title I Department in the coordination of achievement data-related activities in support of academic improvements. The position is grant funded and thereby staffed year-to-year. |
| Duties
& Responsibilities |
- Develop and implement a well-articulated professional learning plan to help teachers better understand the use of data to improve instruction and increase student achievement.
- Monitor and improve the effective use of data to increase student achievement.
- Conduct grade and content level data-driven instructional meetings on a regular basis.
- Provide data needed by instructional coaches or administrative team as they assist teachers to improve student achievement.
- Develop and implement a process through which test results are routinely discussed with students, teachers and parents.
- Analyze AYP reports, and use data to improve instruction.
- Work with local school principal and central office Title I team as the primary contact for the development and implementation of the Title I plan and budget requirements as part of the Title I Plan for Improvement (TIP).
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the use of data to improve instruction that are supplementary to the support required of and provided by the district.

| Qualifications |
Minimum Master’s Degree in education. All applicants must hold or be eligible for Georgia certification in Secondary Education (6-12) in Reading, English, Math, Science. |

Experience |
A minimum of three (3) years acceptable secondary teaching experience as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission required. Must demonstrate an effective use of formal and benchmark assessment data to improve instruction and assist other educators in becoming quality instructors. Demonstrate experience in conducting high quality professional learning experiences. Perform data analysis and interpretation of formal and informal assessments. Demonstrate effective use of SAMS, data bases, and AYP analysis reports. Demonstrate effective team facilitation and leadership skills to move individuals and groups toward the goal of high student achievement. Demonstrate skill in organization and planning. Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication. |
