Network Administration 1. Assist with general maintenance to keep network running smoothly:
Monitor disk space.
Regular server back-up.
Software manual availability and updating.
Addition/removal of staff/student network and/or system access permissions.
Set up new workstations, print stations, assignments to default printers.
Train new personnel (electronic mail, data exchange, information stored in Media Center, hardware and software).
2. Perform problem identification/determination.
3. Assist with coordination and network-related repair requests with Information Technology personnel.
4. Document LAN wiring diagram including: wiring closet identification, wiring closet equipment configuration, and wiring drop identification.
Software Administration
1. Maintain an inventory of all available software.
2. Preview and make recommendations regarding the selection of software for possible purchase and use in the instructional program.
3. Install software where needed and provide information, assistance and training to users (staff and students) for incorporation into instruction.
4. Provide assistance with the extension of the software into other areas of the curriculum and troubleshoot when software is not working as expected.
5. Assist with seeking teacher input on future needs or problems and identifying software selections.
6. Keep current on new products available and developments in the field of instructional technology.
7. Assist teachers with implementation of adopted district software as outlined in curriculum guides.
Hardware Administration
1. Perform record keeping function of hardware locations, quantities, types and required repairs.
2. Offer recommendations where future purchases and/or replacement of hardware is necessary.
3. Assist with maintenance of all equipment.
4. Troubleshoot file server and workstations system software using utility and virus protection software.
Staff Training
1. Attend district/cluster meetings and training sessions, as necessary, to stay current with hardware and software utilized in the school.
2. Assist in the training of local faculty and staff.
Other Duties
1. Assist as a liaison between district technology personnel and school personnel to help school with planning future goals, needs, expenditures, and the implementation of the district technology plan at school level.
2. Other technology related duties as assigned by Information Technology, the Principal, or designee.
