Dear Employee,

The Fulton County School Board governs the use of technology resources and has put in place standards and policies for the acceptable use of those resources under the Acceptable Computer Use Policy (ACUP).

Web Server Upgrade

This month, the FCS Information Technology is preparing a major upgrade from the seven-year-old software version of its web server. This upgrade will improve the speed of internet use and allow our server to function more efficiently.

In preparing for this upgrade, the content that currently resides on the server has been analyzed.  A significant percent of the disc space on the server is being taken up by the following:

· Content that is out-of-date or does not have active links

· Personal content that may be in violation of the Acceptable Computer Use Policy. This would include the electronic storing of personal photos, music, video, copy-righted materials and other non work related non instructional materials.

Removal of Outdated or Inappropriate Material

By no later than November 9 , employees who are web content owners should:

1. Remove all information (that is under your responsibility) from the web server that has no active link

2. Remove all content in violation of the Acceptable Computer Use Policy from the web server and other file servers

After November 9, a content inventory and assessment will be completed. Inappropriate content remaining on the server will be dealt with according to district policy.

If you or your department has content that does not have an active link or might be considered as outdated content but still has valid business purposes, please contact Tai Rotan ( rotant@fultonschools.org ) no later than November 9. Please identify the folder and files that should not be deleted.
