How To Get Involved

The Main Event – This very special event held in the fall of the year provides businesses a great opportunity to help us pay tribute to our exemplary employees for their merited service to students. Through your generosity, our teachers, classified employees, and business partners of the year receive first-class recognition for their efforts. Sponsor levels range from $10,000 to $1,000.

Fore Kids Golf Classic – The golf classic held in the spring of each year scores in a big way for the Fulton County School System teachers and students. Proceeds from this tournament provide seed money to fund teacher MiniGrants. The Fulton Education Foundation is proud of the many friends of education who support this great fundraising project. Sponsor levels range from $25,000 to $2,500.

Fulton Education Foundation Grants – The Foundation is proud of its signature program that supports teachers and impacts student achievement. FEF Teacher Grants provide start up funds, enable collaboration, recognize creativity, and help teachers bring book learning to life in creative ways. For more than a decade, this program has provided over $2,500,000 in grants to teachers with innovative teaching opportunities to benchmark student learning.

Parent University – This program provides course work for parents to help them help their students at all grade levels achieve at higher levels. These classes are held in north and south Fulton County on a Saturday in the fall and spring with graduation held in May. Funds are needed to help with materials, parent notebooks, and graduation.

Yes I Can – This awards program is based on the achievement of students with disabilities who have an Individual Education Plan in the following areas: academics, arts, athletics, community services, employment, extra-curricular activity or independent living skills. The Foundation provides financial and in-kind services to support this initiative.

School Bus Driver Perfect Attendance Program – This initiative supports Fulton’s bus drivers with perfect attendance on a monthly basis. Gift drawings are held in north and south Fulton County to reward perfect attendance. Gifts of $50 or greater are sought from businesses.

Systemwide & Local School Partners – Businesses can get involved with the schools in a variety of ways. Partnership opportunities are available at many different levels, ranging from systemwide partners whose personnel, financial, and in-kind resources help all students, to local school partners who enter into a formal agreement with one or two schools. For partners who seek a personal touch, mentoring or tutoring students may be the answer. No matter what level of involvement a business is seeking, the Fulton Education Foundation and the Partners & Volunteers office work with all the schools to assure that successful and mutually beneficial partnerships are achieved.

Business Development Projects - The Foundation supports a wide range of projects that benefit the students in the district. These projects range from providing additional professional development for teachers and staff, to providing the latest technology to school classrooms, to funding projects that enhance student achievement with a particular cluster of schools, and to projects that affect all the schools within the district.

Teaching Museums North and South - The Foundation supports two facilities that are unique to Fulton Couny Schools. The school system operates two teaching museums that offer programs which enhance student learning. Teaching Museum North is located in Roswell and Teaching Museum South is locate in Hapeville. The two facilities host over 90,000 visitiors a year. The museums offer hands on programs which cover all subject matters including history, the arts, literature, math, the U.S. Judical System, and the sciences. The Foundation financially support several programs for each museum.
