A periodic informational email from the Fulton County Schools SAP Management Team

SAP goes live Oct. 1

COUNTDOWN:

6 Days

This e-newsletter will be sent each Wednesday during SAP implementation to keep SAP users aware of special dates, trainings, and other important need-to-know news. Consider this your “One Stop Shop” for SAP news!

The official “go live” date for the first phase of SAP is next Monday, October 1. Are you and your staff ready? Read on for the latest SAP implementation news.

New User ID and Password Required on October 1

On October 1, employees using SAP programs will require a new log-in and password. When you log on to SAP for the first time, your SAP ID and password will be as follows:

User ID: Your Fulton County Schools e-mail prefix. For example, if your email address is  “smithjohn@fultonschools.org,” your SAP User ID is smithjohn.

Password: Your initial password is welcome (all lowercase). Upon initial log-on, you will be prompted to change this password. Your new password should be six alpha numeric characters and will be case sensitive (do not use special characters such as: &, *, #). Passwords will expire every 30 days.

Issues related to the user name or password can be resolved by contacting the SAP Help Desk at SAPhelpdesk@fultonschools.org or 404-669-4956.

Requisitions Procedures Among the First SAP Changes

Some of the first, most noticeable changes using SAP occur with our new requisitions (purchasing) procedures. To ease the transition, the Contracting Department created a document that guides new users through some of the most frequently used functions.

Training Support on the Horizon for “Human Capital Management”

Human Capital Management” – or HCM, for short – is a term you’ll soon become very familiar with. HCM describes several of SAP’s most important Human Resources functions, such as Personnel Management (hiring, transfers, promotions, and taxes), Organizational Management (organizational structure, jobs, and positions), Time Management (timesheets), Payroll, and Benefits.

Training schedules regarding the implementation of HCM functions will be distributed soon. For school-based staff, courses will be assigned by cluster, and all communications will be handled through each school’s principal. For non school-based employees, this direction will come from department heads and managers.

The HCM Team thanks you for your support of this important initiative. If you have any questions, please contact Lance Rascoe with Ciber or FCS Chief Human Resources Officer Ron Wade.
