A periodic informational email from the Fulton County Schools SAP Management Team

This e-newsletter is sent each Wednesday during SAP implementation to keep SAP users aware of special dates, trainings, and other important need-to-know news. Consider this your “One Stop Shop” for SAP news!

Human Capital Management training begins next week

The next phase of SAP implementation involves Human Capital Management (HCM) modules. HCM describes several of SAP’s most important Human Resources functions, such as Personnel Management (hiring, transfers, promotions, and taxes), Time Management (timesheets), Payroll, and Benefits.

Training on these modules begins next week in preparation for the January 2008 HCM go-live effort. Training is being coordinated by cluster. You can view the schedule at http://www.fultonschools.org/fcssap/training.htm.

Successful first phase of SAP implementation touted

A news release was issued last week regarding Fulton’s successful first phase of SAP implementation. Fulton is the first school system to begin SAP implementation on-time and on-budget – no easy task for a system as large as ours.

The news release praises Ciber for its overall management of the implementation project and has been sent to local and national media with the goal of broadly sharing the project’s successful start. To read it, click here.

Weekly conference call to answer SAP questions

A weekly call-in help session is offered to SAP users until November 20. These sessions occur Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. Three more sessions remain: November 6, November 13, and November 20. Call in to ask specific questions or share concerns about using the new system. SAP Project Team members are standing by!

Quick Tip for the Week

The best way to get your SAP questions answered is to contact the SAP Help Desk at SAPhelpdesk@fultonschools.org or at 404-669-4956.

Sure, you could ask your colleague for a helpful hint, but by contacting the SAP Help Desk directly we can document the specific questions and concerns that are occurring throughout the system. This allows the SAP Project Team to see if there are trends among questions, which will help identify any training weaknesses or program areas that need to be addressed.
