A periodic informational email from the Fulton County Schools SAP Management Team

This e-newsletter is sent each Wednesday during SAP implementation to keep SAP users aware of special dates, trainings, and other important need-to-know news. Consider this your “One Stop Shop” for SAP news!

IDs and Passwords should be kept confidential

As you have discovered by now, SAP is very different from ADPICS and FAMIS. Because SAP is now our primary system for information management, what a user does in SAP can have consequences throughout Fulton County Schools. The training you received and the access you have been granted provide the following benefits:

·         Prevents unauthorized creation/changing or deletion of data

·         Maintains system integrity

·         Limits display and access to sensitive data

·         Legally confirms business transactions

·         Ensures that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business

·         Separates duties so that no single individual has control over two or more phases of a transaction or operation

These benefits are put at risk whenever an employee gains access to any part of SAP for which they are not authorized. For this reason, we cannot stress enough that all current SAP users adhere to the following:

·         Do not give your system ID or password to anyone

·         Remember that only individuals who have been trained and who have successfully passed an assessment are given access to a specific set of SAP transactions

Fulton County Schools is committed to and supported by Board policy that maintains authorized-only use of its information systems. Individuals who fail to follow these guidelines will have their access to SAP removed.

Reminder About weekly conference call to answer SAP questions

If you would like to ask questions, share your ideas, or hear what others have to say, join the conference call. Stay for a few minutes or stay for the full half-hour.
